Co-op28 Gallery Presents Richard Thornsberry & CJ Mammarella
May 9 – May 26, 2012
Opening Reception: Saturday, May 12 from 6-9pm
Co-op 28 Gallery is pleased to presents Los Angeles artists Richard
Thornsberry & CJ Mammarella . Both Mammarella and Thornsberry
celebrate the figure and all its glory.
These unrepentant portrait artists toy with what is beautiful,
powerful, uncomfortable and acceptable. Their works share many common
themes but each artist has a unique approach when rendering their
subjects. Thornsberry’s style hits you with a realistic brutality that
is unapologetic and confrontational while Mammarella’s creations are
more quiet and contemplative. Join us in celebrating these two talented
visionaries.

This constantly evolving, theatrical landscape magnifies the fleeting interaction between strangers on the fringes of society, while highlighting the eventual evaporation and decay of all involved.
Samantha Viloria examines vague childhood memories and the perception of the self through her ink drawings and mixed media creations.
